Project Description
COPE Foundation, who provide a range of day care and residential services for special needs clients contracted Murnane & O’Shea Ltd to construct an independent living facility on a small infill site in Cork City which they had acquired. What was constructed was a 16,000 sq ft assembly of self-contained single storey respite care houses and two-storey apartment building for children and young adults. Also included were linked playrooms and multi sensory rooms with independent access. The brief was to provide a safe secure environment for the clients which was still part of the local community and related to the street outside.
